Health systems across the world are digitising. However this is happening unevenly, and low and middle income countries are lagging behind. Therefore the critical need for Transform Health to continue its engagement and build the political will and public support and understanding that will ensure politicians prioritise this issue and provide the funding, develop the policies and pass the regulation and legislation that will enable the digital health ecosystem to develop, become establish and importantly, respond to the needs of the whole population. With the right commitment, leadership and resources, digital health can accelerate universal health coverage across all countries.
Transform Health has made tremendous strides during 2023. We are excited to present the 2023 Transform Health annual report that highlights the coalition’s successes over the last year, notable among these are moves to establish a common set of global standards on health data governance, reaching global consensus on the need for better coordination and more effective flows of funding into digital health, and on creating greater public demand and an enabling environment for digital health transformation at national level. In 2023, we also expanded our Executive Committee and elected three new members to ensure greater representation, and a more effective distribution of responsibilities – Natasha Sunderji, Managing Director, Accenture Development Partnerships; Honourable Neema K. Lugangira, Member of Parliament, Tanzania; and Sahil Tandon, Research Associate, South Asia Reproductive Health, David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
