DESCRIPTION:From Investment to Impact: Aligning and Optimising Digital Health Financing \nTransform Health and UNICEF will co-convene a session at the Africa HealthTech Summit (AHTS) in Kigali (taking place between 30 Sep and 2 Oct)\, introducing a common framework for classifying and tracking digital health and AI investments. \nThe session will present the Digital Health and AI Investment Classification Framework – developed by Transform Health with a leadership steering committee comprising UNICEF\, WHO\, OECD\, the World Bank and the Global Fund – and showcase early country experiences applying it to budgeting\, investment mapping and planning. A panel of government\, development partner and civil society representatives will explore how a standardised approach to classifying funding can improve visibility of investments across Africa\, strengthen coordination and alignment with national priorities\, and help unlock financing for greater health impact.

SUMMARY:AU Member State validation of the Continental Health Data Governance Framework
DESCRIPTION:Africa CDC\, in collaboration with Transform Health\, will convene a two-day continental validation workshop from 21-22 October 2026\, bringing together 55 AU Member States and strategic partners to review and validate the draft African Continental Health Data Governance Framework\, ahead of its anticipated adoption at the AU Summit in February 2027. \nThe Framework was developed under the leadership of Africa CDC and co-created with AU Member States\, with technical support and tools from Transform Health. It aims to help Member States build secure\, ethical\, interoperable and sovereign health data governance systems\, as health systems across the continent rapidly digitalise.

Bringing together ministers\, multilateral leaders\, and private investors\, the summit challenges global decision-makers to view health not as a fiscal burden\, but as a vital economic investment that drives GDP\, workforce resilience\, and national security. \nTransform Health will be participating in the session\, ‘Digital Health\, AI and Biosecurity: Harnessing Technology to Safeguard Sovereign Economies’\, which will explore how digital health architecture\, AI\, and biosecurity platforms can be reframed from recurring operational costs into high-yield sovereign capital assets. Panelists will examine how technology de-risks national balance sheets and attracts private and multilateral capital\, directly connecting with Transform Health’s work on the Digital Health and AI Investment Classification Framework.
